In a clash of pulsating indie-beats, open, curious soundscapes and pop-ish melodies, Røgsignal (Smoke Signal) has created a longing universe, equally inspired by a sleepless, metropolitan lifestyle and the calmness of rural Denmark.

For the last couple of years, the Aarhus based quartet has proven to be one of the strongest new acts on the Danish scene for instrumental music. The 2016 release of the bands debut album, Pletter På Solen (Sunspots), led to great attention from a growing audience, concerts at the biggest jazzfestivals and venues in Denmark, raving reviews from both national and international press and steady rotation on Danish National Radio (P8 Jazz).

“The band’s sound has been described as fusion jazz incorporating different sounds and influences from Denmark and the wider world of music. It works like magic…”  – Nick Davies, All About Jazz. June 2017 about Pletter På Solen.

The band recently premiered its new, major music video production for Der Løber Meget Vand I Åen in a sold-out cinema in Aarhus and for the rest of this autumn, Røgsignal will be focusing almost all of its energy on writing new material, before touring Danish venues and European jazz festivals in 2018.
